As a first-generation college student, the road to medicine was very unknown. This program helped me find the direction I need to become a physician and serve the underserved population I belong to in the San Joaquin Valley.

...I am very grateful for being part of this program. I felt like I wasn't good enough to be a part of this team but I was mistaken... My biggest payout is the experience and the ability to be able to listen to other students' and staff testimonies on their journey and how I can apply that in my life. When I first heard about the program, about what the purpose was and how it's meant to help you become the doctor you want to be, but also to come back and serve your community. That really stuck out to me. I get to not only do what I want to do, like my dream, but also its set in place to where I could come back to my community and serve them as a physician
