Prospective Students

To be eligible for the CMSP SJV-MedBridge Program, applicants must:

• Be a current community college student interested in exploring a career in medicine (dual-enrollment high school students are not eligible)
• Have completed or be on track to complete at least 12 California community college credits in the San Joaquin Valley
• Not have previously earned an associate or bachelor’s degree

To complete your application, please be prepared to provide the following:

• Personal information, including your email, phone number, and other basic details.
• A digital copy of your transcript (unofficial copies are preferred).
• A 150-word response explaining your interest in the CMSP SJV-MedBridge Program and how it aligns with your academic and career goals.

The application committee will review all complete and eligible applications submitted by the deadline. 

UCSF does not use race, gender, sex, or other protected categories or proxies for protected categories in the selection process.

Applicants will be notified, via email, of their status in the admissions process. 

Students offered conditional acceptance will receive instructions for confirming their spot within the cohort, along with additional instructions and information pertaining to next steps.

• Is the program in-person or online?
  • Some CMSP SJV-MedBridge sessions are online, but we’re excited to offer a variety of in-person opportunities as well. 
• Is there a cost to participate?
  • No, there is not a registration/program fee.
• What does the program schedule look like?
  • A incoming cohorts receive a schedule of activities. Additionally, all CMSP SJV-MedBridge events are shared with students in our monthly newsletter, the MedBridge Minute.
• What counties does this program serve?
  • CMSP SJV-MedBridge serves students across the San Joaquin Valley, including the following counties: San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Fresno, Madera, Kings, Tulare, and Kern.
